The process for nanomaterial integration is as critical to end-product performance enhancement as the nanomaterial itself. Without proper integration a nano-addition may have no effect at all, or could actually result in performance degradation. Critical to the commercial success of SDCmaterials is our philosophy that the products we produce be in a form that can be readily integrated by our customers into their current manufacturing process. At SDCmaterials we have specialized equipment and research scientists dedicated to developing integration paths and verifying results for each application and each customer.

Although we do not manufacture end-products for commercial purposes, for development purposes we do integrate as close to the end-product as necessary to assure optimum performance. In the case of our automotive applications, we have the in-house ability to integrate our products onto core-size, or full-size catalytic converter monoliths. For body armor applications we have the ability to integrate our products into our customer's ceramic matrix. What SDCmaterials ultimately sells to our customers however are the nano-intermediate products: dispersions; slurries; impregnated powders; etc. These nano-intermediaries bridge the gap between SDCmaterials' novel nanoparticles and our customers' manufacturing process, enabling effective and seamless end-product integration.

To assure proper functionality, SDC also has in-house analytical and testing capabilities for our nano particles as well as our nano intermediates. For automotive catalyst applications for example, we have the ability to test powders and monoliths for catalytic functionality using state of the art test rigs customized for our needs, but based on industry standard protocols and test conditions.
